Welcome to LuxeBrideGuide, where I share bridal inspo for the luxe bride-to-be.

When It's Not What You Pictured...

When It's Not What You Pictured...

Ah, if I had a dollar for every time a bride ends up with a gown that she didn’t envision herself in… While this sometimes is a negative thing due to shopping posse pressure, gown delivery times relative to the wedding date, or feeling pressure from the consultant, more often than not it’s a wonderful thing! Just not when you’ve been picturing yourself in a satin ball gown with a little bit of bling but not too much and a corset back to look #snatched and end up in a lace mermaid gown with no sparkle and a low back with button details.

Often instead of embracing that she just found her dream gown, a bride in this predicament will often go back and forth with herself. “I love it, but it’s not what I pictured, but I LOVE it.” Well did you “picture” your fiance years ago and end up with someone different? I mean good for you if he was exactly what you imagined, but chances are he probably has a different hair color, body type, personality, etc. than you originally envisioned when having a sleepover with your BFF for life and imagining your Prince Charming after watching Cinderella Story starring Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray.

While I’m always up for a change of vision, however, I can totally understand if you need to take time and make sure you’re really ready to commit to the gown. After all, it is a big expense and probably the most expensive piece of clothing you will ever wear. That being said DO NOT GO TRY ON OTHER THINGS. You will only confuse yourself more. If it gave you all the feels, you cried, your mom cried, and or all of the above (or you just look really great in it and you’re not one for emotions towards pieces of fabric artfully sewn together), STOP LOOKING. Did you keep looking when you said yes to your fiance? Actually don’t answer that I’m sure I’d rather not know some of your answers.

ANYWAY, the moral of the story is: it is completely okay to change your wedding day vision with ANY aspect of your wedding from the gown to your decor as long as you are doing it for the right reasons. With that in mind, happy gown hunting!
