Recap Time: My PB Live Experience

Recap Time: My PB Live Experience

I’m back!

Yes I know it’s only been a few days since the last post, but there has been a ton happening over here at LuxeBrideGuide HQ (which is my living room lol).

About a week ago, I had the opportunity to attend two days of Preston Bailey’s PB Live, which is a three day event that educates industry professionals on how to plan and design a successful event. This year’s event took place at The Legacy Castle in Pompton Plains, NJ and boy was it a real treat! If you want to truly feel like a royal on your wedding day, this may be the venue for you.

Now let’s get into the deets about PB Live! Each day is split up into segments, with speakers during the first half of the day, a fabulous lunch, and then hands-on opportunities and more speaker sessions. Topics included everything from wedding cakes, to lighting and sound, to how to price your services, and more. And guys, this wasn’t just speakers talking to an audience. Everyone had the chance to ask questions as well and really, nothing was held back. That whole thing where you can’t ask someone what they charge? Yeah, that flew right out the window.

Another thing that I loved about this event was how accessible Preston was. His name wasn’t just on the event, he was truly involved. From greeting each attendee individually on the first day, to speaking every day and giving advice during the hands-on portions, it was incredible to see how much he cares about the next wave of professionals. It was all collaboration here, and no competition. Attendees had the chance to work directly with his team to create the installations for the closing party. If you just want to get re-inspired, learn something new, or level up, definitely look into attending. Whenelse can you get advice from TOP wedding professionals and work with their teams? Check out this one minute look into the event:

Even I, who isn’t a planner or designer or florist, took something away from this event. An example? Ali Barone (watch out for her interview coming soon to the blog), spoke on what to do when things go wrong, and her rawness and honesty was so refreshing. We always think that these industry pros are flawless humans who always nail the perfect event, but many of the speakers owned up to the fact that hey, mistakes happen and things go down that aren’t ideal (think getting super sick during an event or dealing with a family emergency). It’s just nice to hear that it’s totally normal.

I also had the chance to observe the hands-on portions of the event, and to see everyone getting their hands dirty and working with over 32,000 YES OVER 32,000 flowers was incredible. Those crazy installations you see on Instagram? Everyone was working on completing one of the three designs for the final party, which looked just like something you would see in a magazine. While I was sad I couldn’t stay for the third day to see the finished room, I saw the images and have included them below and WOW it looked amazing!

Now I could go on and on writing specifics, but I think it would be better to share some photos with you. To get more of a feel for the event, you can also check out my Instagram stories highlight, which shows some portions of the speaker segments as well as videos of the hands-on portion. A giant thank you for LLG Agency for inviting me to attend!
